About Us
Hi, my name is Robert Kuehne and I would like to tell you the story about how my toy was invented. This toy was NOT invented by a multi-million dollar company or a group of investors looking to make a quick dollar. It was invented by a father who took a leap of faith in a good idea. I am a firefighter and have been so for over 13 years and since I work a lot I always felt like I was not spending enough time with my children. The day the SpinStick was born I saw a chance to help many more families spend quality time together too. I feel the most contagious form of happiness is the sound of a child's laughter and it was the first few spins of the SpinStick that confirmed that this was a unique experience that should be shared with more families. I have found a way to connect with my kids and participate in their fun time and in return I am able to take a little time out of my busy life for my family.
The SpinStick was born on a warm spring afternoon at my friends house. We were watching all the kids run and play around in their green grassy yard. My kids were playing with a pair of stilts when they started to fight over whose turn was next. So my wife and I did what any parent would do, we each took a stilt from them. As I was holding one of the stilts my 5 year-old-son ran over and jumped onto the peg of it. I leaned the stilt over to one side and my son rotated by gravity down to the low side and he giggled. I started laughing and leaned the stilt the other way causing my son to rotate back to the original side again as he was laughing hysterically. It only took me a few moments to realize that if I rotated the stilt in a circular motion my son would go around in a complete circle. Within a few minutes I was spinning all the kids and drilling holes in my friends grass. I had to keep moving the stilt to a new spot because the kids were lining up to get a turn. I immediately knew I could make a very simple toy that was very different than any I had seen before. Within a few days I had a rough prototype and it worked even better than I imagined. After using the new toy for a little while some small adjustments were made to make it even better.
During the prototype testing and spinning my kids around I realized something very important. The SpinStick was doing something for our family that we had been missing. . . . "Family Time" together. I realized that I had been spending a lot more time with my kids and we were laughing together. As a busy parent I am guilty of sending the kids out to the back yard to find something to do. When the SpinStick came along I realized that the kids really craved the quality time we were spending together. Because of this our company's slogan was born. "Spin More Time TogetherTM"
This toy has a very large age range and weight range compared to toys in the stores. It has been rated for children from ages 3 to 14 and up to a 150 pounds. Also, the toy is put together in less than 5 minutes with a standard Philips screw driver, unlike most toys. This toy is made in the United States and is very durable so it will last your family for many years.
